It's usually an abbreviation for ethanol (alcohol). Are you an alcoholic?

It's terrible, Bob, to think that all I've suffered, and all the suffering I've caused, might have arisen from the lack of a little salt in my brain.

Do you have a problem with alcohol? ETOH is shorthand for ethanol (alcohol). That's all I can think of.

Well the quack doctor in the hospital thought I had an alcohol dependency. He wanted to put me in the dual diagnosis unit after the acute psych unit. I didn't want to for ptsd reasons. I'm not an alcoholic but enjoy drinks with my friends. Both my parents are serious alcohlics so I guess that was a main part to their diagnosis. But ETOH is weird I think. Whatever. Thank u

Since he already had you down for a few other things, making a leap that you could possibly be "binge drinking" isn't that unreasonable.

True. That's fine with me but sending me to dual dianosis unit with serious addicts would only make my psych problems worse...

It seems as if you tell them ANYTHING about any drinking, you are an "alcoholic". They probably drink as much as I do!
