hey guys, i dont know if i have read my threads but i am having a really really really tough time with my personal relationship between my gf and i due to the emotional flatness im getting from my med combo.

the thing is though i was reading that welbutrin is SUPPOSED to help with it, now obviously it isnt doing it for me right now. However i have been able to go a few days at a time doing fairly well. My question is, if welbutrin is supposed to help... im currently at 300mg of XL welbutrin, has anyone ever heard of a higher dose than this? obviously i would never ever be aloud to have a stimulant again... (bit of a caffiene addict but i can kick it to feel like being near someone i love again) but what do you guys/gals think.

Just curious!
thanks!

I take 450mg (Aplenzin is the same active ingredient as wellbutrin) and I don't have any emotional blunting like I did on SSRI's. I drink caffine by the way but not much because I'm sensitive to it and that has been true all my life and not just with the wellbutrin. I found wellbutrin activating but in a good way...it never made me jittery or anxious or anything like that and I think it's worth a try.

you can go higher than 300 but the risk of seizures and possibly psychotic symptoms is greater.., you'll find that noted almost anywhere you look for psych med info.

Why not try a *lower* dose instead? 40 mg escitalopram is a lot, of course you feel blunted.
