lithium

Known primarily by its generic name, a couple of lithium carbonate's popular brand names in the US are Eskalith and Lithobid. There are just too many others to list here.

Benzodiazepines

We cover Ativan (lorazepam), Klonopin (clonazepam), Librium (chlordiazepoxide), Tranxene (clorazepate dipotassium), Valium / Diastat (diazepam), Xanax (alprazolam) and whole bunch of others out there.

Trileptal (oxcarbazepine) and Tegretol (carbamazepine)

Tegretol is also known as Carbatrol and dozens of other names around the world as an anti-epileptic drug (AED) and to treat neuropathic pain. Carbamazepine is also sold under the brand name of Equetro specifically for bipolar disorder.

The valproates: Depakote (divalproex sodium), valproic acid and sodium valproate.

The valproates are one of the oldest family of anticonvulsants around. In their three different forms they are known by a bajillion names around the world. Please see the different pages for specific information on them:

Depakote, Epival
Valproic acid, almost always prescribed as a generic today.
Valproate sodium, known by all sorts of brand names outside of the US.

Other Anticonvulsants

Any anticonvulsant that doesn't have its own board, including ones we don't see in the United States, that not a lot of people take, or that are so old school and/or unusual that practically no one on sites such as these has ever heard of them (e.g. the hydantoins such as Peganone and Phenytek).
