February The 8. Still In The Ward..

Somehow I have neglected my blog totally in the last weeks.. I'm not quite sure why.

I am still stationary and moving slowly toward the exit. But it still seems to be a question of weeks (months?) - not days.

There has been a change, today two weeks ago the alprazolam 1mg I had just before going to bed was halved. That 1mg seemed to be very important I found out in the days until now. The path I am on is reducing the benzo's and gaining concentration again (aka what is my future and not where did I leave my damn coffee-cup). Well everything went pretty well (or I do not remember anything negative?) with the reductions before this last one.

The interesting thing is that my afternoons are bad now. Not as bad as when I walked in here with my hands up but I am noticing that I am getting anxious again and am not taking care of my self (shaving, washing clothes etc). Damn. I was hoping a AD had kicked in and I would feel something helping me through. Venlafaxine always did a damn good job at that but it was too much as I posted in my entry last year.

Well on Monday I had a appointment with the psyc on station here and she was thinking about adding quetiapin XR in the morning. She discussed it with the head and they've raised pregabalin instead.

Somehow I was hoping to see them build up a strategic medication that does not leave me with 4-times-a-day intake when I leave. Adding more gaba while reducing the benzo is strange for me - it shows I need an anxiety med that is not a benzo. But basically they are still working on the same transmitter.. I wonder how more quetiapin XR would have worked - perhaps I'll find out soon. Probably they would need to up the wellbutrin if they add more quetiapin xr (one pushes dopamine/noradrenaline and the other pushes the two down).

Sorry to hear you've had a little setback with halving the benzo. Seems like this would happen to most anyone, though. Keep us updated on how it goes in regards to new meds. Wishing you the best.

I am feeling very uneasy this evening.. it started sometime before lunch and got worse. the carusell of negative thoughts kicks itself on now and again - not good. and I am at home this evening. no lorazepam with me. bad idea. I hope it will pass (had the quetiapin earlier on the way home, may help).
I am not shure if I am going to talk about the carusell back at the ward on friday. I want to go home again sat/sun :-/ and that may be endangered with me slipping off again.

does anyone know how the ratio is between alprazolam and lorazepam? how much stronger is alprazolam? three times? six times?

why did they not leave me on the full alprazolam dose for longer.. it felt good and I think some healing was going on then between my ears. totally drugged but feeling "normal".

There is a benzo comparison chart pinned in the benzo forum. Not sure off hand. If you think you need it a little longer, you need to say so. You should mention carousel. Might encourage them to bring back the .5 mg of alprazolam.

Hey M_H...

Damn! I've been thinking about u every time I check this forum! Good 2 see u. I was worried...

I'm a bit surprised that in the last two weeks there has been almost no change in your regime. Do u feel any better?

What is your opinion of seroquel xr? Is it helping in any way 4 depression or anxiety? Does it overly sedate u or make u tired?

I look forward to more updates!

Seroquel xr is a strange combination with wellbutrin. It works fine for me, I am not tired nor drowsy etc. The first night I had a slight hang over but that was about it.

There are story's of people being knocked out etc. but in my case there was no difference.
